Why? I'm pretty sure my report was legitimate. 2001:7D0:81F8:9A80:6419:722D:809F:6CF6 15:41, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, I guess Special:AbuseFilter/257 has false positives. Do you have an account? — 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 12:05, 1 January 2025 (UTC)
Can't you just delete the file and get over and done with it. I am really not in the mood to read endless instructions. Thanks! Oalexander (talk) 15:16, 5 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Oalexander: No, sorry, I don't have the power to do that. Others, like @Yann and @Mdaniels5757, have that power, and other powers. Why do you keep making incomplete deletion requests and blanking information like in Special:Diff/979830973? Do you understand that you could be blocked for that? — 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 15:32, 5 January 2025 (UTC)

- Thanks. We all should remember occasionally, that "wiki" supposedly means "fast" in Hawaiian-Polynesian. Cheers, Oalexander (talk) 16:20, 5 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Oalexander: Right. Here on Commons, we have multiple types of deletion. The type you tried with {{Delete}} can take a week or ten, the incomplete subtype you tried can take forever until someone fixes it or deletes it, and reverted once can take even longer. You shot yourself in the foot by reverting. — 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 17:03, 5 January 2025 (UTC)

The date selected is in the future
[edit]I use the normal upload on the left-hand side of the page. I come to "Date work was created or first published." I type: 7-1-2025. Then I get: "The date that you selected is in the future. Please select the correct date." Sardaka (talk) 10:03, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Sardaka: Hi, and welcome. July 1, 2025 is in the future. The Upload Wizard appears to consider text like that to be in American MM-DD-YYYY format, rather than European DD-MM-YYYY format. Please be more specific with your date input if you mean January 7, 2025, or in this wiki's parlance 7 January 2025, or 2025-01-07 or 20250107 per ISO 8601#Calendar dates. Sannita (WMF): Please at least allow people typing in dates to know what is expected, and to read a fuller explanation if the input appears to be in the future. — 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 10:49, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
Thanks to the above who answered me. Now I know the problem. The system should tell us what format to use, ie MM-DD-YYYY Sardaka (talk) 10:58, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Sardaka: You're welcome. Yes, it should. — 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 11:00, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Sardaka @Jeff G. Thanks for the ping. Can I ask @Sardaka which preference they have for dates? I think that has to do with the problem. Anyway I opened a task on Phabricator to ask to better explain which date format is required. Thanks for the input! Sannita (WMF) (talk) 15:26, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Sannita (WMF): You're welcome. Mine at Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-rendering section "Date format" is set to 15:36, 10 January 2025. — 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 15:36, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
- I'm in Australia, and my preference is for d-m-y. However, this may change as we get more and more Americanised. Sardaka (talk) 08:43, 11 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Sardaka: That is not one of the options in that section. What do you have selected in that section? — 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 10:49, 11 January 2025 (UTC)
- I'm not sure I follow what you are saying, but let's just say I will go along with the American way because there seems to be little choice. Sardaka (talk) 09:35, 12 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Sardaka: Ok, but you still haven't answered the question. What did you have selected in that section before you made your first post above? If you don't remember, what do you have selected in that section now and how has that changed the behavior in response to "7-1-2025" (or has it not changed)? — 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 11:14, 12 January 2025 (UTC)
