The nation of Greece borders the Mediterranean, Aegean, and the Ionian Sea. There are many choices that allow one to sail between the islands, taking in the scenic seascape.
While sailing about the islands of Greece, one must also visit Crete, which is the largest and most populated of the Greek islands. Here one can hike through the Samariá Gorge or perhaps tour the ancient Minoan city of Knossos. Crete should definitely be a stop on one’s holiday through Greece.
Another island that one should visit is that of Rhodes. The city has a lot to offer in terms of history. The ancient Wonder of the World, the Colossus of Rhodes stood over the harbor at one time, while the medieval Old Town of the City of Rhodes is now recognized as a World Heritage Site.

Thank you for this! I recently wrote a post about the collective feeling of anger in Greece right now — I’d love to have you check it out and hear what you think!
Hi Julia thanks for visiting. I checked out your blog you have some great articles.
If I would go back to Greece again, I would settle on one island and just take in the atmosphere. I spent too much time in Athens, not enough time in Istanbul, and the week-long cruise dumped us off at all the most popular islands. Thankfully, we were lucky enough to get a day in Mykonos when the crowds were mild and the beaches not crowded. Rhodes and Stantorini were super-crowded and hard to enjoy as a result. Alas, I’ll be blogging about it all someday!
That’s always the case to much to see so little time. Thanks for stopping by.
